FREE - Angry lessons from the Bible

Freedom Kidz is the Children's Ministry of Freedom Church in Acworth, Georgia.

Over the past few months, we have been working on a fun way to teach children

how to deal with anger.

Our goal was to be relevant, fun, interactive, impactful, effective and scripture filled.

Our team worked hard on this and we wanted to offer it to other children's ministries that could use this as a tool to help teach about how to deal with anger.

This series is based off the iPhone App "Angry Birds" and will be available Monday 7/11.

Ask them Questions. As a church we only get one hour a week to talk about Who God is and what He has done. But you as a parent have 167 hours left in your child's week to be a positive influence.

Your preschooler can read the Bible

About a month ago I had a parent recommend this Learn to Read Bible for my Kindergardener. This was by far one of the best books I have purchased. I have seen first hand how my child desires daily to read it. In fact in one weeks time she has read through the Old Testament and is on to the New Testament. The really great thing is she can recall Bible stories and now she loves the Bible.

After hearing what other parents have told me about this and seeing it first hand I highly recommend this Bible. It has Bible stories with Colorful cartoon illustrations and each page has 4 easy to read lines that follows up each page with a question for the parent to ask to see if they recall what they are reading.

Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Sunday March 27th is Show and Tell Sunday for our Preschoolers.

We want to encourage your 2 - 5 year olds to bring their favorite toy to Freedom Kidz.

I want to assure you that we will label each item and make sure that your child leaves with what your child brought.

over the past few weeks in the Playland and Funhouse (our Preschool environments) we have been looking at what God has made. The Series is called show and tell and we wanted to give your child the chance to show their friends something that is special to them that God had made.

Zacchaeus was a greedy tax collector who became a cheerful giver. This week what better way to bring home the point than to let these guys, Cracker Jack and Sweet T explain the story. about this little man for weeks.

Zacchaeus was a Wii little man, and a Wii little man was He.

He climbed up in a sycamore tree for the Lord He wanted to see.

Happy Birthday Freedom!

3 years ago today, Pastor JR and a group of people started what we call Freedom Church. God has done wonders here in the city of Acworth, Georgia. In the past 3 years we seen lives changed, marriages restored, and hundreds upon hundreds of people (children included) that have experienced life in Christ. This Sunday (January 30th) we are going to celebrate like only Freedom Church can, with style. Your invited to come take part in this celebration. Freedom Church meets at 9:45am or 11:15am - Barber Middle School located off New McEver Rd. in Acworth. See you there!

On the 4th day of Christmas.... Setting Parental Controls on your Child's Cell Phone

Chances are when you were a kid, a cell phone wasn't something you begged your parents for, because cell phones didn't exist. Time have changed and cell phones have become one of the must have things for older children and teens. For them it gives a feeling of independence or a status symbol among their friends. On the positive side it offers a chance to teach responsibility through keeping up with it or keeping it charged. On the down side easy access to the internet or not knowing who your child is talking to. It can cause you as a parent to question whether or not them having a cell phone is a good idea. On the 3rd day of Christmas.... Setting Parental Controls on your Child's Video Game System

Chances are your child got a video game system for Christmas or either already owned one. You've probably spent some time playing games with them. But how can you protect the kids from inappropriate games when you're not around?

It can be difficult to judge which games are appropriate for kids. You could do research on the game, but, your children could borrow a game of which you disapprove.

the good thing about the new generation of game systems can help you out. The Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the Sony Playstation 3 allow for parental controls. With a special visit from Stan the Shepherd Man and William the Wiseman, your kids will learn the truth about Christmas.

Birthday Party (for ages 2 to 5th grade)

Your kids are invited to the biggest party all year, Jesus' birthday party! With all kinds of fun we will celebrate the birth of Jesus. This will be a Sunday your kids will be talking about all week, non-stop!
There will be party games, cupcakes, a lot of fun and most importantly, Mr. Ben has a special gift for us to give to Jesus.

Christmas Eve is a time to celebrate as a family. Families are very important to us here at Freedom and we want to enable you to celebrate together.
There will be NO BigTop (Elementary) this day. 1st grade to 5th grade students are invited to take part in this event with you while Freedom Kidz will continue to be available for children ages 0-5yrs old.

Sunday, October 31st in Freedom Kidz was a blast! There was all kinds of kids and adults dressed up and having so much fun. To top things off a CAR inside of North Cobb High School with a trunk filled with candy. 10,000 pieces to be exact. Here are a few pictures of the FUN!

Baptism for Kidz

This Sunday is a celebration at Freedom Church we call baptism.

We want your children to be involved also. If you child is wanting to be baptized or may have questions about what baptism is than we want to help them understand it better.

We offer a [What is baptism? for kidz] class where we explain what it is, who its for and how can they get the chance to take part.

We want to make sure that your child fully understands what baptism is.

This week we offer two chances:

Wednesday Night at 6:30pm

Saturday Morning at 10:30am

New Series - Beefesians

This past week we started a brand new series for your children from ages 2 all the way through the 5th grade, It's a western theme called Beefesians. We are covering the book of Ephesians and how we should "BE"

SEPT. 12^TH – Belong - Being part of God’s family  Ephesians 1:5; John 1:2

SEPT.19^TH – Believe - We are saved by faith  Ephesians 2:8

SEPT. 26^TH – Be patient - Dealing with difficult people  Ephesians 4:2

OCT. 3^RD – Behave - Setting radical standards of personal excellence.  Ephesians 5:1, 2; Ephesians 5:7

OCT. 10^TH - Be strong - Putting on God’s spiritual armor  Ephesians 6:10

Last week also was the beginning of a couple new things.

* A new structure that includes a Large Group called the BIG SHOW that includes all the kids ages 4-11. then your child is dismissed into their small group where they are divided up by age and grade.

* A DJ that plays songs that your child will recognize.

* A live worship experience for your children. It includes Motion Dancers, a band and a lot of Fun.

* We also began a contest to raise money to help sponsor a cow. By your child bringing coins on Sunday they are helping provide milk and finances for families in need in Honduras. At the end of the series your child will receive a certificate that shows that they played a major part in helping families in need.
